Lesson 170: Receive With Simplicity

Receive with simplicity everything that happens to you.
— Rashi

Such a simple sentiment. It’s something to think about. You can receive the simple way or the hard way. Does anyone actually really want it the hard way though?

Sometimes we make it hard on ourselves without even realising. We can sometimes be our own barriers. It’s not like we want to punish ourselves but we plague ourselves with worry, doubt, fears and then question decisions made. If we don’t allow things to just naturally flow, then we’re stopping the Divine from delivering to us our true path. It does take an element of letting go. It’s a trust in something bigger in yourself to let things fall into place – this concept isn’t for everyone, though I do believe in comes for each person in due time. If we let go, it opens our hearts to the possibilities. This is something that I am trying to encourage in my own life every day. There is no need to worry if I work towards my dreams and let them come into fruition based on my hard work.

Can you let go today? Open yourself to receiving and see how your life changes in the upcoming days.

Lesson 148: Simplify, Simplify

How we hold the simplest of our tasks speaks loudly about how we hold life itself.
— Gunilla Norris, Being Home

The new theme this week is “Putting Away Every Day”. I believe this is putting away to make your surroundings more minimalist. But then again it can be about simplifying thoughts also and not drawing in too much that causes overwhelm.

When I was reading the quote, it seemed to take me forever to really understand it. If we take a simple task and make them hard, then subsequently we tend to think life is hard. That’s how I related to it. I mean if we say “that’s too hard”, is it more than likely you utter “life is too hard” our of your mouth too?

Something to think about.
