My Interpretation of the Card
This card has appeared today as a reminder that intimacy can touch your life in various ways. Whether you’re in a relationship or been in a long-term relationship, it may be a time to increase the intimacy with your partner. That could be through love, sex or even revealing the inner parts of your soul. By breaking down your walls, it allows you to be more open with someone that deserves the true parts of you. Intimacy can also be established in the relationships you have in your life. Maybe you haven’t allowed all of yourself to be exposed, but with perfect love and trust, the people in your immediate environment, will make you feel comfortable to reveal those hidden parts of you. You don’t have to be afraid to invite that in.

Intimacy is often associated with being sexual when in fact, emotional intimacy has nothing to do with being sexual. If you are unable to open and connect with your partner on an emotional level, it becomes difficult to maintain a balanced relationship. Share your feelings and thoughts on important issues, on a deeper level, to maintain physical and emotional connections. In the past you may have had fears of intimacy. Fearing to share personal thoughts, feelings and body image has created a mindset around acceptance of how intimacy should be and how it should be in the future. Confusion can lead to abusive relationships, poor communication, bad break ups and an abuse of power. If you’re in a relationship right now, can you say there is mutual respect? Are you both being heard? If you are single, now is the time to acknowledge and address issues surrounding this loss of power, allowing you to open your heart to others in the future.
Conclusion Between my Interpretation & Guidebook
I took the approach of relationships in general rather than just that of a partner. I believe in that intimacy can be established in all relationships. I understand the guidebook’s meaning but don’t necessarily believe it should just be about partnerships but rather all connection.
