All the Bees!!

Bees Dress
Bees Dress

I had these jelly shoes from Rubi shoes that I had never worn but really wanted to. Yes, it's a bit childish but it was all the rage and still is. They only cost me $10 and bring back so many childhood memories. So I had these bright red shoes and they just didn't see to work with any of my outfits until I thought I would match it with this Bees dress from Black Milk Clothing. I thought "Yes red and brown go together" so I tested it out and loved it. So this dress is still available for AUD $85 and is a reversible dress with a racer back and scoop neck. The cardigan was $15 from Temt and red belt 3 for $5 from Cotton on Clothing.

Excuse the mess in my bedroom! I think experimenting with fashion and colours is fun!

The Other Princess of Oz Flatlay

Continuing with the flatlay competition held by Black Milk, I decided on one final entry as it was cycling through my head - Dorothy. I had red glitter shoes and just needed to incorporate them into a flatlay somehow. Then I thought about blue and white so I decided on the Clouds shorties.

The other princess of Oz

The clouds shorties I cannot find on the Black Milk website at all but they cost $50 (pretty confident) and they were a limited item.

The top I bought from Ally for AUD$25 and I went through that phase of buying those collared peplums when they were all the rage last year. Plus I like pearls very much so. Pearls make any outfit cute.

The glitter shoes were bought off eBay from some costume shop as it was part of my Xmas outfit for my work party last year. According to eBay, I purchased those babies at AUD $35 but on special. Normally those glitter heels cost approx $60.

All the other bits and bobs shown here is a love heart bag bought in Singapore for SGD $25 from a shop called Talisman's in Far East plaza. The belt is also from there with a special - 3 for $10. The little Britney perfume was a gift. Don't remember how much the flower with the ring on top is from, nor could I remember the price. Headband from Philippines and all the make up is your standard pharmacy/beauty store brands like Maybelline.

So there you have it! Mixing blue, white and red and bring out your inner Dorothy.

Black Milk Clothing Flatlay

I've never been one to flatlay anything but it's really a fun way to experiment with outfits and accessories. The only reason why I started was because Black Milk Clothing have a competition on to win a prize pack including a $100 voucher - which is an awesome prize in itself. The theme is Princesses but most girls are placing their own spin on it rather  than following any specific Disney Princess theme. You can enter here

Here are my 2 entries with more ideas spawning right now:

High Tea Princess
High Tea Princess

So I labelled this entry as "High Tea Princess". This to me is something I would wear to a nice picnic, girly date or high tea. It's just dainty and girly and I love it. The feature piece is Black Milk's Watermelon skater skirt which was AUD $50 though is no longer available. The majority of the items shown are from Singapore - the bag, cardigan and shoes. I couldn't tell you the price of the bag as it was a gift but the cardigan was approx $15 and shoes $25. The make up is standard pharmacy items like Maybelline lipgloss, Revlon lipstick and Bourjois blush. The pink turtle neck top was approx $10 at some random store in Perth

Gamer Princess
Gamer Princess

This second entry I labelled "Gamer Princess". The skirt was actually a limited item by Black Milk clothing with 8 bit hearts which aren't clearly visible in this picture. I believe it cost AUD $50. Shoes I bought from Solestruck on sale for US $80 and they are still available but at US $159.95. The geek beanie was $10 from Cotton On Clothing. The bag I bought from Philippines and can't remember how much but i wouldn't say more than AUD $20. I bought the crop top from Forever 21 though can't seem to find it on their site. I also bought this top from Philippines and judging by the price of their general floral crops, it wouldn't be more than US$20. Another item worth noting is the Lime Crime Velvetine lipstick which costs AUD$24 in shade Suedeberry - a vegan friendly product.

So I'll probably fill my Instagram with more flat lays and then come here to post my creations.

Will see what creations I come up with :)

Savvy by DB - Mint Julep & Blue Bayou

I decided to share some more pretty coloured nail polish - DB Savvy Mint Julep and Blue Bayou. Mint seems to be everywhere still - as well as every pastel colour.

Mint Julep looks more baby blue rather than Mint to me but I still like how it paints.

Blue Bayou is a light blue glitter nail polish with few bits of silver chunky glitter parts in it. You do have to paint quite a few coats in order to get enough amounts of glitter out of it.  Probably not the best nail polish to wear on it's own.

I decided to paint 2 coats of Mint Julep as the base and Blue Bayou in a diagonal direction. Took me at least 3 coats to get a light glitter stroke against the mint.

I feel like these are Cinderella nails or at least Princessy :) They do look very dainty and girly.

Now I just need a special place to go to to show these off!

Savvy by DB - Pink Flamingo & Purple Viking

img_8158.jpg

People often ask me why I do 3 fingers one colour and 2 fingers the other colour. The reason for this is so that I can do 2 reviews in the one post :)

Here I bring Savvy by DB Pink Flamingo & Purple Viking:

IMG_8158

They both cost $2.99 from Priceline and I believe you can only buy it from Priceline.

I must admit that I never wear base coat or top coats because I don't have the patience to wait and watch paint dry.

Considering how cheap this nail polish is, it's fast drying and lasts a week without top coat. Pink Flamingo is a pink nail polish with a silver glitter mix. Purple Viking is a purple based glitter with red specks through it.

IMG_8156

They both dry smooth and easy to wear. When I think of flamingo I think of a brighter pink but this nail polish is darker when applied. The purple viking wears exactly how you see it in the bottle. I wore these 2 together because they compliment each other. They are also easy to remove if you're using a good quality nail polish remover - there is nothing worse than trying to remove glitter nail polish and it destroys your nails.

Overall, I am happy with this purchase. I think it's good to test out nail polish without top coat to see how long it actually lasts..... or so I tell myself  :)
