White and Black Hello Kitty OOTD

I wanted to look Japanese on this day.

I wore:

Hello Kitty top: Present from mum from Hong Kong

Black Skirt: $10 from Kmart

Jeffrey Campbell Back Off Boots: $179.95 from Solestruck - I got them on sale for $101

Everyone commented that I was wearing Ice Skates but I didn't care. The boots were comfy and I thought I looked good :P

Unicorn OOTD

When did I wear this outfit? I think Friday 5th October based on this post by Nancy.

The items I wore:

Unicorn Leggings: $60 from Beyond the Trap Door though it is made by Iron Fist and not on their website unfortunately

Watermelon Top: $10 on sale from Supre

Yellow Singlet: $15 from Supre

Yellow neon Nancy Sneakers: $50.95 on sale from Lipstik Shoes though this particular colour is not available anymore :(

Nancy's Diary - A Lipstik Sneaker - Entry #1

This is very exciting! My very first post!

I'm Nancy and I sneaker around with LiLi. Hehe

I wanted to share with you what an amazing day I had on Friday. LiLi took me out to show me off to her work mates. Let's just say I outshone any other piece of footwear in the office ^_^ More people should wear Lipstik Shoes!

You see, it's casual day on Friday at LiLi's work and she tries to bring all the brightness to her fantastic outfits. Today I was glazed in yellow glitter and was happy to play all day with LiLi's unicorn leggings. Who doesn't love unicorns?

We did a lot of walking around (mainly because LiLi left her phone in her car, so there was a bit of back and forth) and we even had lunch at Croissant Express. LiLi even picked up a chocolate croissant for her boyfriend- YUM! After having a roll at Croissant Express, we ended up at Baskin Robbins to try out this new flavour ice cream called Honey Sesame Crunch. It was divine!

Because LiLi's boyfriend was sick, we ended up going to Priceline after work and getting him cold and flu medicine.

It was definitely a nice sunny day on Friday and wish we could have done something more fun than just go to work. I was beat from all the walking we did but at least I knew I am durable enough to get through it!

I wonder what our next outing will be. Today's outfit was a test run for all the future possibilities ^_^

We <3 Princess Pumps

Now after reading the owner's inspirational story, I just had to blog about:

How did I discover this brand? I think Facebook wins in this department again. It probably posted the ad because of all the shoe stores I have been liking recently so it has really won in my eyes.

So, Princess Pumps. What is it all about? Well, owner Jason Ponic was faced with financial uncertainty when the American economy took a dive in 2009. He took everything he had and started selling them on Ebay. With constant selling of his possessions, he took it a bit further by selling any props and costumes he had from making movies as a film student. Tucked away in a closet he found some Ruby Slippers that he had made and posted them up on EBay.

The first pair Jason ever made :)

A lady had contacted Jason asking if he could make a pair in a different size as a special gift for her daughter. She was willing to pay $100 for them. It was at this point that Jason realized he could post up 4 listings at a time for$99.99 for these custom made shoes. They sold out after 1 week. He did it again and the same thing happened. At that point, Jason's financial situation was solved and 3 years later, his business continues with the likes of Wicked: London as one of his clients :)

I love supporting those who hand make products. Why? Because I think of the time and effort they place into their creations and how proud they would be of their work. For me, Princess pumps are reasonably priced. You can get a pair of ballet flats for US$34 - what a bargain! Bearing in mind that Jason hand sews all the sequins on, that is really cheap! Here are some pics of the ballet flats:

The main seller are his Wizard of Oz pumps. Here are some pics:

The first pic is the Kitten Heel at US99.99 and the bottom pic are the Stiletto heels at US$119.99. They are totally gorgeous!!

Prices start low with the ballet flats previously mentioned and the highest priced shoe I saw was the Swarovski Rhinestone shoes at US$250:

Jason has a website here where you can place custom orders. He even lets you send your own shoes in for him to adjust. I actually preferred his Etsy store found here. I like the idea of sneakers being sequinned and he even does Vans :D

I must say, this is high up there on my list of finds. Great idea and I loved his story!

Tips for waking up in the morning

I've got to say that I struggle in getting up in the morning so I decided to think about ways to get yourself up out of bed. I think it's because it's winter and it is so warm in bed that you don't want to leave.

I am in no way a professional but wanted to share some ideas with you that might get you perked up for your day ahead.

  • Pump up some really upbeat tunes. Put the music on so that you sing along and if it's dancey music, it may get you up to dance a little bit in the morning. It's much fun and will get you perked up! My favourite song right now is The Wanted - Chasing the sun

  • This one depends on you - rolling out of bed.. literally. I used to do this but you could probably hurt yourself. It sort of sends your body into a panic as you will fall out of bed. Your heart will race but you will be fully awake! I swear by it!

  • Spray rose water on your face or have a spray bottle full of water to mist your face. The premise behind the mist sprays is to make you feel refreshed and to wake up. I like using Kosmea's Rosewater Hydrating Mist. Costs $19.95 off their site but you can find it cheaper looking around. Otherwise, if you have a skin friendly scented oil, you could mix it with water and buy your own spray bottle

  • Gulping down on water. I think what you need to do is activate your brain into doing something. If you have a bottle next to your bed, when you wake up and start drinking, it forces your brain to think and work and thus it makes you wake up. Why not start the day with a natural and healthy drink?

  • Draw the covers off you. If you push the blanket away from you, then it forces you to be cold. It is then you think about getting in a nice hot shower and then you'll wake up

So there you have it - my 5 ideas on getting out of bed.

Let me know how they go for you?
