Sportsgirl - Flamingo & Caramel Nail Polish

So this post is brought to you from my shopping days before my birthday in August. So when going into Sportsgirl, I found all these accessories on sale.

On a previous post, I wrote about a lipgloss that I purchased just for the additional light and mirror. Well, in the same transaction, I also bought these 2 nail polishes - Flamingo and Caramel.

They cost $2.95 each, marked down from $7.95, so I thought why not? The Flamingo is a hot pink shade with a slightly sleeked finish. It's Barbie pink. It's LiLi. It's hot to trot.

The caramel nail polish is a platinum shimmer and wasn't what what I expected. Looking at the bottle, it looks like a light brown / bronze colour. On application, it's a totally different shade. I actually like it better than what I thought it would be like. It is really like a nude shimmer with a platinum edge.

I must say, this picture does not give the caramel nail polish justice. It looks so much better in person. It's one of those tones that look good against any skin tone. It's an adaptable shade. What I like about these colours is that they dry quickly. And by quickly, I mean a few minutes. I only placed 2 coats on and it's perfect. I hadn't placed top coat because I couldn't find it :( Sorry but my hands probably look haggard in this picture too as I don't look after my hands like I should.

Overall, I am quite happy with how the colours turned out, and I thought I would try something different with my nails than just one colour.

I love JLO's lips...

So I love JLO in general and her new song for the movie Step up 4 is also a good dancing song to party down to :)

But want I wanted to really share is her diamonte pink lips. Never thought to stuck a whole bunch of crystals to my lips but I think it looks great. What do you think?

Sportsgirl Lighten Up - Berrylicious

So the week before my birthday, I bought a lot of bits and bobs from all over the place and now am getting a chance (or more so remembering) to blog about them.

Here is Sportsgirl's Lighten Up Berrylicious lipgloss.

Why did I buy this? I bought it because it had a light and mirror on it. That is really the reason. Here a picture of where the light sits:

Perfect for anywhere and can be worn during the day and night.

The colour is right up my alley with pink sparkles mixed in with hot pink and a purple tinge. I wear it during the day and wore it on the night of my birthday. It spreads on evenly and does not have a gluggy, sticky feeling. It feels so light on the lips and has a polished finish that makes it easy to wear. It has a natural feeling when worn and does not dry out. The only time you need to re-apply is after you've had a drink or eaten.

When I wear it, it smells like rainbow paddle pop. For those that don't know what that is, it's an icecream with this yummy creamy, bubblegum flavour.

I actually haven't had a paddle pop in years but remember the distinct taste and this is the healthier way for me to enjoy the aromas without eating junk :)

I bought this lipgloss for $4.95 on sale but this normally costs $9.95. Because this is a past season item, the new lipgloss colours and range are on their website here - you will need to click on "beauty" and "lips" as it does not directly create a link for some reason.

I recommend this product to anyone because it's not too bright and for me, pink goes with everything! It doesn't draw away attention to other parts of your make-up or outfit that you may be wearing and brings a bit of colour into your face as well.

So I don't remember how I found Shop with Romi but I fell in love with all the alternative accessory options this site has to offer. The good thing about it, is that you there is free shipping to Australia when you spend over $50 and over $70 for international customers.

The story behind this online accessory store is that they travel around the world and be inspired by fashion and show case these fabulous, funky designs.

They also sell other head accessories and nail art. This was just to give you an idea on what they have to offer.

What I do like is that they do sell pre-loved items and also donate 10% of their profit to charity. You can even go to their Facebook page and vote which charity they should donate to. How many companies do you see doing this?

Neon Pink Nails from Diva

Diva has a sale... Automatically I go in (as always).

I buy the jewellery I like and get suckered in by the cheap check out, counter items.

This is what I nab. I liked the colour and the bling bling bottle top.

Now, I feel fashion jumped from one extreme to the other. One minute, there is all neon based clothing with lace trimmings or embellishments. That automatically starts with the neon bags and accessories. Then all of a sudden it goes to pastels... I'm not the biggest fan of pastels! So right now they are mixing it up with neons and pastels.. Which is it Australia?

So this nail polish has no name and was on sale for $3. It's obviously a neon pink but I call it Barbie Pink because that's what it looks like on. Here is my pic of some no so great painted nails:

It's great! You're probably wondering why I filtered the pic - it's because the rear facing camera once again did not capture the right colour. This is the true colour - Barbie Pink!
