Coolest Find of the Month - May

I realise that it is now June but I was hanging onto this for some time and wanted to share this with all those budding brides.

I bring to you Two Birds. It is available in USA, Australia, UK and Canada.

It is a dress that can be worn 15 different ways. This came to my attention after I was searching for a cocktail dress for a 21st party. Yes, it is an idea for bridesmaids dresses, but because you can wear it 15 different ways, it makes it versatile for many other occasions.

It comes in over 20 colours and you can order swatches before you finalize your customized order.

Prices range from $340 - $500 depending on length and style of the dress.

I like this dress because you can cater for your group of bridesmaids and experiment with how you want your final look. Mixing it up, I find is my favourite way to have the dress with all the bridesmaids having different top sections - I personally wouldn't go with multi colours but hey if that's your thing, then you can make it work. The website is very informative in that it teaches you how to tie the dress, it is interactive and also shares those special moments from peoples' weddings.

The dress comes in a classic style in either a straight or butterfly cut, a rosette styled bottom (shown in the top picture) or a two toned classic -  I'm not the biggest fan of.

Check out the website for more info about the dresses and test out the colours and different styles.

Hope this helps any brides out there needing an idea for a good bridesmaid dress!

Pistachio or maybe Mint?

Following with the nail polish trends, I bring to you Pistachio or Mint

I think it's a great Autumn and Spring colour. It's a good neutral and pastel tone that I believe would go well with flowy skirts and girly dresses. I am currently wearing this colour and it's not over the top and looks like a soft colour.

The nail polishes listed above from left to right are:

Essie brings the shade "Navigate Her" and costs $8 directly from their site. I did find this on Amazon for $4.96 from the seller Essie so you can grab it for a little cheaper.

Priti NYC offers"Dusty Miller" which is a really soft and paler green. It costs $12.50 directly from their website or Bloom and ships internationally.

This YSL nail polish is part of a manucure couture duo for $30. This is the mint green and could be found at Neiman Marcus and Nordstrom but they are currently out of stock. Finding this on Ebay is pretty easy too.

RGB offer "Dew" for $16 directly off their website. It does say out of stock but their Amazon store does sell it.

Some other cool finds I managed to find:

China Glaze offers Re-Fresh Mint. I couldn't find this being sold directly off the website but found this on Ulta and Soap.com for $7 for US customers but Amazon sells it for $4.95 it from seller GENERAL - SUPPLY. This is a really soft and creamy colour.

I really like the nail polish because its pastel green with gold and green glitter. This is $10 from Etsy Seller Wonder Beauty Products. This colour is Aphrodisiac Minty Green. I like it because it's been specially made and is unique in it's colour set.

OPI offer Go on Green! which Beauty Bay offered for approx. $15 but found this by Amazon seller rock and glamorize for $2. It is a bit brighter than soft mint.

Revlon offer Minted that can be found at your local beauty and health store or pharmacy. I did find this on the Walgreens website for $5.49, Drugstore.com for $4.99 or Amazon seller Simply Savvy LLC for $2.46.

Duri Cosmetics offer Pistachio for $5. This can be bought directly off their website and ships internationally. Still a soft green and creamy but has a slightly different green tinge from that listed above.

Picked this up from a local chemist for $2. Ulta 3 offer Lagoon which is on the brighter side than the other nail polishes listed. This is a shiny metallic green but I believe it is still light pistachio coloured. This is the nail polish I am currently wearing.

Filthy Gorgeous London currently having a sale with this Rich Jade Green for £4.50. This has a slight blue tinge to the colour but to me still gives off the soft mint tone. The cool bottle is a bonus too! :) I couldn't find anywhere else that sold this particular colour other than the direct website.

I hope that this colour gets you thinking about trying a soft, cool coloured nail polish. I think it is very cute and suits all skin tones. I think it's one of those colours that you can wear all year round. This looks to be a good trend for 2012 - I wouldn't have really thought about this colour until I went online to check out the trends.

Hope you like it :)

Revlon Colorburst Lip Butter - Cupcake

20120527-152312.jpg

So, in addition to my post on the Revlon Peony Lipgloss here, I decided to also post about a Lip Butter I bought on the same day. This cost approx $20 like the lipgloss and bought at Kmart. You can purchase this at any health and beauty store as well as pharmacy.

I found that there was a lot in the range for the lip butters. It comes in so many colours, but I decided to go with Cupcake. This is a really soft pink lipstick and I can safely say, will not suit everyone. When applied it is thick and creamy on your lips. Because of its baby pink colour, it would suit with light blue and purple eye shadows.

Check out the photo I took:

I blurred out my face with the focus on my lips. It's definitely a cute lipstick and for those that usually wear bold colours, I wouldn't recommend this lip butter for you. I like it because it's cute and dainty, and I will usually wear this colour if I am in a fun mood too.

Checkout the Revlon website here if you want to see the Colorburst range.

Looking online I saw this lipstick for approx $12 on eBay but randomly stumbled upon a website ecrater that sells this for $3.29. ECrater is a free online marketplace like eBay and you can grab great bargains. It also appears that it ships around the world too.

Outfit of the Month - May

So I wanted to follow up from this post about my overall outfit I wore to a 21st birthday recently.

I bought my Hello Kitty lipstick with my post about it here and wanted to make it work with a deep blue dress. So here are all the items I bought shown separately:

I bought the dress from Ally Fashion for AU $39.99. I loved it as soon as I saw it! It is a velvet dress with blue glitter dots all over the dress. It's polka dots meets velvet! When I bought the hello kitty lipstick I just knew I wanted to wear it with this dress! So, with that in mind I needed hot pink shoes for the whole outfit to come together.

So here is a picture of the whole outfit - excuse the picture as I cut out my friend and never got a picture taken of myself. Didn't want to include my friend just in case. Also, I may look short because I crouched down to take the picture as I was so tall in those heels:

I accessorized with silver Jewellery. I wore a diamonte choker necklace which I believe cost around $40 from Diva - I bought it a few years ago so I really don't remember. My earrings are from Lovisa and were on sale for $5. I kept my eye make-up simple with just black eye liner and mascara. My foundation was Bourjois Flower perfection blogged here and I used an Avon loose powder. I would let you know how much my clutch was but I can't because it was a gift. I would say you can find clutches for approx. $40. Here is a close up of my make-up and accessories:

So overall, this outfit costs $85 for the shoes, $40 for the dress, $45 for accessories, $40 for the clutch = approx. $210 in total. You can probably do it for less if you get the accessories and clutch on sale.

I received many great compliments on the night and loved the outfit overall! It was great mixing deep blue with hot pink. It worked out so well!

Thanks for stopping by!

Revlon Colorburst Peony Pivoine

20120520-094902.jpg

So, went shopping for my cats but found that the make-up stand always offer something valuable that catches my eye. This time I found a lot of promotion for Revlon's Colorburst range with Emma Stone front lining the campaign.

I always look into the lipsticks and lipglosses because I love wearing these everyday! I didn't want to go for any bright colours, so I found this Peony lipgloss that was soft pink with a nude tint and gold sparkles through it. The picture up top shows the slight glitter through it but not to worry as I took a pic of my lips for a closer view of what this looks like.

20120520-101035.jpg

It is very light in shade when glided on your lips. I find that the gold glitter really shines through with this lipgloss. Because the actual shade blends in with your natural lip colour, the gold sparkles make your lips extra shiny. This lip gloss is also non-sticky and I do not get that gluggy feeling. I also feel that it is moisturizing at the same time.

This costs about AU$23 and can be bought from any pharmacy or beauty store. I can't say I found it anywhere cheaper online because it can be found at your regular retailers. Found lots of reviews for it. I would probably going to your chemist/pharmacy outlets to see if they have this for cheap.

lipgloss is great for every day wear or for special occasions. Right now, I am wearing it with just simple make-up of black eye liner. Easy done! I even took pictures! It's simple and sweet!

Until next time...
