Day 125 - A Year to Clear - The Ripple Effect

Lesson 125: The Ripple Effect

Even the smallest clearing effort — that is encoded with intention, action, non-identification, and compassion — creates a powerful ripple effect.
— Stephanie Bennett Vogt

Today is all about reading the quote and truly understanding it. I am finding that it’s like building muscle memory. The more you apply awareness and compassion to your clearing efforts, the more it becomes second nature in your life. Not only this, but it extends to other aspects of your life also – the way you treat others, the way you interact at work, how you socialise. It gives a greater sense of self and how you understand yourself, not blaming yourself for the clutter you’ve created and then being able to move forward with patience for yourself.

With continued efforts, I think a weight is lifted off your shoulders as you feel lighter decluttering your physical and mental space. If you feel unrestricted, it’s more happiness and good flow of energy coming to you and this is noticeable for others. if people see a lighter, brighter you, then that also causes a ripple effect.

All in all, if you stick with your clearing efforts, it has a positive impact on you but also those around you.

Lesson 124: Static Cling

From the last lesson, there was a good realisation that we carry around invisible clutter and this can be accumulating and forms a stringy web. It is said this follows us around and attracts just as many low frequency energies to it as well as leave a trail for others to attract and stick to.

I think Stephanie Bennett Vogt’s lesson is great. We are the product of our environment and of those around us. If we are clearing our clutter with awareness and compassion towards ourselves, then we open ourselves to good possibilities and natural flow of good energy. If we do this, it spreads. And if we help ourselves and those around us, then it can spread further to strangers and the world. That’s the enormity that the lesson is today.

All the power is within ourselves. Put your intentions out there. Attract goodness. Spread it out. But we must always start with self. We can’t help others if we can’t declutter, and release the things or mindsets that hold us back.

Day 124 - A Year of Spiritual Awakening - These Looping States of Mind

Lesson 124: These Looping States of Mind...

Today’s lesson is all about those cycling thoughts we have that distract us. By having looping state states of mind, we can really get stuck there, and this in turn attracts lower vibration within ourselves and externally. If we aren’t active in raising our vibration through activity, meditation, being in nature etc, these cycling lower thoughts will drag us down. The lesson is that the negative cycles don’t exist whilst you are trying to increase your own vibration. The simplest thing we can do is take a big, deep breath in, to start changing the vibration.

My viewpoint on having cycling negative thoughts and higher states of a vibration is almost a natural balance in our mind. Now, hear me out. People will speak to the ends of the Earth of being positive and always trying to accomplish this positive mindset. People who are negative and possibly suffer mental illnesses can sometimes be shunned just for being in a certain state for whatever length of time. In fact, there’s so much promotion of being positive, it’s like people don’t want to recognise the negative shapes us also. I’m not saying wallow in darkness. I am most definitely saying recognise those dark thoughts and grow from it. There is a lesson to be learned.

I have negative cycles all the time whilst I’m trying to raise my vibration. We definitely have good and bad days. Of course, I feel better when I do meditation for instance. But if I have something really bothering me, it’ll come back into my mind. To say that looping states of mind do not exist, when we try to raise our vibration, to me is half true. I think whilst we are doing an activity, it can free our mind for a moment, for sure. It’s in those moments when we stop said activity that our mind can wander. And, we shouldn’t feel bad for that. We are trying to balance ourselves with more positive from the negative, but not always can we fully eradicate those looping cycles.

So all in all, I don’t fully agree with today’s lesson. I certainly understand that raising your vibration with mindfulness can really make a difference, but to fully eradicate every negative thought, I just don’t agree with. I think it is human nature to go through ups and downs. And we shouldn’t be made to feel bad if we do have a down. We should always work through it, in order to come out on the other side. Just my two cents.

Day 123 - A Year to Clear - Strings Attached

Lesson 123: Strings Attached

Imagine this: one object that you don’t use or love equals one invisible string. A negative thought equals another. Same negative thoughts, addictions, unmitigated fear, painful memories cycled over and over again equals a stringy mess.

A stringy mess that we spin out of our energy field like a spider’s web.
— Stephanie Bennett Vogt

Going through the exercise, I thought “what a mess!” and then I thought “everyone’s head must be a mess too”. If all our thoughts and clutter were attached to string, there would be string everywhere! I guess the only comfort I gain from that exercise is that web’s can be destroyed and don’t last forever right? We can destroy our web if we work through all the clutter. We can slowly make the strings go away. In my mess of an apartment, I know this to be true. I think my problem is getting side-tracked all the time. I’ve been busy lately so I can get inconsistent in physical clearing but I make it a point to be more mindful, which is an attempt to clear the silly thoughts in my head. We can really just let it go but only with consistent efforts. I need to get my consistency going again for sure. Like anything, we all have our ups and downs.

If that exercise made you stressed, remember to stop and breathe through it. That web doesn’t define us. Everything will slowly clear as we continue on this journey.

Day 123 - A Year of Spiritual Awakening - When You Raise Your Consciousness

Lesson 123: When You Raise Your Consciousness...

This course has really started moving me in the right direction of being aware and increasing my own consciousness. It’s said that by doing this through the heart, many common problems start to disappear – anxiety, depression, anger, boredom….. Today we are to think about how often we might be consumed by these common problems. Do they stick in cycles? Do you become obsessed over them? Today whilst we are in a state of awareness and mindfulness, notice if you are cycling through these thoughts. Notice when you are engaged and when you are distracted by these common problems.

I want to state that it’s fine to have common problems. Sometimes I get so fully consumed by them that I can’t stop. Like right now for instance, I am suffering through anxiety over work. I am placed in a situation I cannot control and I have actively tried hard to not let it get to me. It is fully getting to me. I get more and more frustrated as others hold my fate in their hands. This has been an ongoing saga for the past 6 months and I have been looking elsewhere for another job, but with limited options and me looking at pay cuts, I just can’t afford to give up this role. When people higher up do sort out the situation, I will have a great opportunity to build a department from bottom up – that’s something I’m looking forward to. I have yet to transition to it though and this is causing me anxiety as I wait.

I can’t seem to disguise this from my mind though. I do meditation, I go for walks to clear my mind, I try to be mindful but it keeps plaguing my mind. The constant frustration and the knowing I’ve got a hold up at work, just doesn’t make me want to go to work, to the point of not being able to get out of bed. That’s shit. I can do all these spiritual techniques, but as soon as my mind has a free moment at work, I think about my shit situation again. I look forward to the times after work as that’s where I really feel great. I’m doing something I enjoy and life is good. Cycle through to the next morning again and I’m like “No, I just don’t want to go to work”.

I try to remain engaged. I really am but I’m at a loss here. The only way out is to find a good paying job equivalent to what I do or keep waiting out. I think the company I work for has really failed it’s staff as this is the same for other team mates. The moments I have full engagement is my witchcraft or card readings, anything away from here.

I think we can be conscious, but also have some limiting factors in our life. I think the benefit for me is that I am aware and if I wasn’t, I would be completely worse off than what I currently am. I think with my continued efforts and seeking professional assistance is going to help me. I would rather not have these shit situations to begin with, and if I had control in this situation, I wouldn’t be hanging around to be miserable. All the advice I can give is keep working at whatever distracts your mind until it finally dissipates. Some people take a few days, whilst others it may take longer. We shouldn’t judge ourselves whilst trying to better our situation. I think the key is to actually try and apply awareness in our lives.
