First Time Painter

I could feel myself slipping into a depressive state and as i was asked what would motivate me, I realised I needed something before motivation. Whatever the step was before motivation was what I needed. I was quite emotionless which is not a good place to be, so I did my shadow work to come to the realisations of what was going on with me and determined I needed some strength and willpower. I also found that I needed to find some things that would bring about inspiration. A friend suggested that I need a challenge of something I had never done before. So, I looked at cheap classes around Melbourne and stumbled on Cork and Canvas which allowed anyone with no prior experience to paint. There is always a painting you would have to copy in class with an instructor to show each step. I had never painted anything besides some crappy finger painting I might have done in primary school. This was my challenge and I am happy that I went because it sparked my creativity.

Here is what I created. I am so proud of what I can accomplish!

Realistic eye for beginners

Thought I'd make a quick post before work. So I tried following a tutorial on realistic eyes for beginners. It was harder than I thought it would be, but I'm always up for a challenge.

Given that the idea is to achieve realism, I am happy with my effort. The eyelashes, I maybe made too abundant, and I realised this after I looked back at the tutorial. I also had a difficult time getting the eyebrow to look more natural but I think with more practise, I'll get hair strokes down better.

I've included my first drawing and then my attempts to shade, plus some different angles of the finished drawing.
