Random spurt of creativity

So I hadn't been practising in months. I can't even remember when I drew these, but I was passing Officeworks and had this sudden urge to buy a sketchbook and pencils. I didn't know what to draw, so I just typed some words in Google and tried to replicate. This is what came out. Just playing around really. There is a fairy, angel wing, Lady crying and stag. Didn't leave myself room for antlers on the stag, but I'll learn more on perception, proportion and scale.

Realistic eye for beginners

Thought I'd make a quick post before work. So I tried following a tutorial on realistic eyes for beginners. It was harder than I thought it would be, but I'm always up for a challenge.

Given that the idea is to achieve realism, I am happy with my effort. The eyelashes, I maybe made too abundant, and I realised this after I looked back at the tutorial. I also had a difficult time getting the eyebrow to look more natural but I think with more practise, I'll get hair strokes down better.

I've included my first drawing and then my attempts to shade, plus some different angles of the finished drawing.

Neglected my creativity but I'm back!

I haven't taken the time to draw. Life really threw some challenges at me so I neglected any type of creativity. But I'm back!

I've never really had any talent at drawing faces. So today I somehow conquered this. Thank goodness for YouTube! I typed "learn to draw" and one of the first videos was how to draw faces for beginners. So I used the tools of drawing circles and lines for guidance and I created Mike.

Hi Mike! Thanks for gracing my presence onto the paper!

Not sure I should set a daily challenge but I will pick up the pencil and make more of an effort!
