Lesson 155: Lean In

Take an interest in your pain and your fear. Move closer, lean in, get curious; even for a moment, experience the feelings without labels, beyond being good or bad. Welcome them. Invite them. Do anything that helps melt the resistance.
— Pema Chödrön

New week equals a new theme. This week’s is “Leaning Into Resistance”.

When I look at the quote, I feel like we will be looking at our emotions and feelings, facing them and then dealing with them from there. Because this is a clearing course, it would make sense, as we’re learning to let go of what goes on in our heads. To face pain and fear, leads us to get through those uncomfortable feelings and actually taking an approach that leads to an overall better life. If we can face those tough times, then we can overcome anything.

What do you think?

Day 79 - A Year of Spiritual Awakening - Your Ability to Feel Pain...

Lesson 79: Your Ability to Feel Pain...

What is one thing that can really hold us back if we let it? That would be Fear. The theme is still revolving around pain and how open we can be to it, but in order to move onto the next passage of the heart, we really need to let go of fear in order to really grow and move forward. We can make the pain pass through fast if we want it. The question is, are we really ready or willing to do this? We can ask the Divine to open us to passing through pain in an instant.

I think fear can be a massive hindrance to us whether we realise it or not. Sometimes we hold onto memories because it’s caused so much pain and sometimes we just don’t know how to let go. I believe this lesson is all about the fear to move on. What would really be the worst thing from letting go of the pain? Is it a fear of what you’ll be because you don’t have pain holding you back? It’s really a question you have to ask yourself. Everyone has their own answers of what they fear and why they hold onto their pain. Maybe it’s a fear of the unknown because once you let go of the pain, because your pain is like second nature, what type of person will you become?

I think I’m pretty open into my pain now that I welcome the lessons that come with it. It can definitely hurt me, but I also try gaining some perspective also. Everyone has their own journey and I really think awareness goes a long way, and then, you can make the decisions you need to in order to move through your pain.

Day 73 - A Year of Spiritual Awakening - Fear and Joy

Lesson 73: We All Will Have Fear and Joy...

Everything we experience go through cycles. We love and we hurt, we feel joy and feel pain. We truly find that we awaken when we can open ourselves to the first passage of the heart which is pain and raise our consciousness towards it.

Today is all about how we can become whole as we become more awake. If you aren’t awakened, why do you think that is? If you are think about how you did it.

I feel like a broken record but I truly felt awakened when I was angrily asking the Universe what the point of everything was when I just had an abortion. I think that was my lowest point and when I got answered by the Universe as it sent two angel fish my way, I knew there was something bigger than me and my life really changed. I have been working through my pain ever since. Not just in relation to that abortion but all past memories, toxic relationships, habits and trauma. It’s still a working progress. I don’t think I am whole yet but I am certainly on my way. I think when you can recognise your pain and actually become aware that you need to work through it, that’s when you really open yourself. Yes, it can definitely be a tough ride as you face some truths but it’s worth it for overall sense of wellbeing. I feel like when I can conquer even my lowest of lows, it shows that I can do just about anything!
