Exclusif Rose

20120518-093018.jpg

I received the Rose Exclusif from my freebie grab on this post.

The premise behind the lipgloss is that it reacts with your lips pH level and adapts its colour. From the promotional pic above, it shows the shades that be achieved from this lipgloss.

So, I decided to take pictures on 2 separate occasions to see if I could achieve different results and this is what happened.

2nd May:

20120518-095933.jpg

As you can see, this lipgloss was a darker shade of pink when I wore it. It was a very bold dark pink. When I initially wore it, I remember that it was lightly glossed with a hint of pink and was shocked when I got home to find how dark it was because it did not suit what I was wearing in the slightest - I was wearing a mustard colour dress. I can't remember what I ate or drank that day as I'm sure if would attribute to the colour.

18th May:

20120518-100404.jpg

So today, I decided to take a picture first thing when I got up and I haven't eaten yet. As you can see, the colour is quite light, almost clear. I prefer this shade as it can be worn with any sort of outfit. The colour hints subtlety and also gives a natural look.

So, I can honestly say that this lipgloss will give you mixed results. I have read online by other users, that if you mix this with a lipstick or another lipgloss, then you can achieve a colour you want. If you want to wing it and be surprised by the results, I say just wear it and see where it takes you throughout the day :)

The lipgloss is meant to give you a unique colour to match your skin tone. I think it does that but also at the same time changes colour when food and drink are factored in. I wouldn't be surprised if it changed colour based on your mood too! It definitely is made to moisturize your lips so that is definitely a bonus!

For Australian customers, it can be found at Priceline, Target or pharmacies for $22. I managed to find a website that sold it for cheaper - Pharmacy Direct for $15.40.

For UK customers, I found Boots and SuperDrug selling it for £7.69.

For Canadian customers, the Bourjois website says that you can make your purchase at Shoppers Drug Mart for $20.

For US customers, I searched high and low for this! I see that Bourjois is no longer selling in retail stores in the US. Even Amazon did not sell this lipgloss. Asos was a sure thing for US $12.16 until it read out of stock! But, I managed to find Pharmamundi selling it for US$12.95 with free shipping with orders over $25 using coupon NEW2012. I couldn't find any other website that sold this lipgloss. Many sites offer Bourjois in general but not the Rose Exclusif.

Hope you enjoyed this post!

Finding Formula 10.0.6

Wandering around in shops is good. You find new products that you wouldn't notice if you rush. I like going shopping by myself because I take my time, walk like a turtle and have a good browse of shops I wouldn't normally.

The other day I stumbled upon a new find: Formula 10.0.6.

I'm like the worst person when it comes to a beauty routine and cleansing my face properly. My purchase was the Best Face Forward Daily Foaming Cleanser which I have used daily since I bought it.  I also purchased Down to the Pore Strips but will review it once used :) I have combination skin and the annoying this is when my face gets oily under my make-up. I really enjoy using this product because it is refreshing and actually smells like passionfruit and green tea when it foams on your face. I have already noticed the change in the reduction of the blackheads on my face. It's amazing! My main issue is my blackheads so I am glad to be working towards getting rid of them. I'm hoping to get a toner and moisturiser from the same brand because I'm in love with the product. Right now, I am using a light Nivea toner and Oil of Olay - will review once I buy more products :D

For Australian customers, you can only purchase this from Priceline and Big W by going in store according to the website. I bought mine for $9.99 from Priceline. The online websites that I could find that sold it cheaper for $7.50 was OKme and Cincotta Chemist. US and Canadian customers can purchase this from online direct from the website here and buy it for $5.99- you will need to register behind going through check out. Other countries listed that this product is sold can be found here.

This product is part of the Bonne Bell Company and have confirmed that they do not test on animals and use plant based products on this post here. I'm glad that I found this product because I never noticed it because there has never been any major advertising for it - from what I can see.

I like sharing products people may not have had the opportunity to try, so I hope you like it.

Flashing Fuchsia

So, continuing on with my nail polish trends, I bring to you Fuchsia

It's a bright, sassy colour that is great for vibrant, coloured candy outfits or what I prefer fuchsia against black.

The nail polishes listed above from left to right are:

Butter London offer Disco Biscuit for $14 and be bought directly off their website for people living in Canada, UK or the US. For Australian customers, you can try Adore Beauty, Kleins Perfumery, Green Organics, Peachy Clean for $22, Honey Honey for $19.80 or Skincare Store for $19.95 - this was the cheapest I could find.

MAC offer Toco Toucan for US$16 direct off their website. Unfortunately it wasn't available on the Australian MAC website but you can always go to your local Myer to the beauty counter to see if they have this. I also couldn't find the nail polish at local beauty websites and Amazon had it for $29.

Nails Inc. offers Notting Hill Gate for £11 directly off their website but only ships to the UK and Ireland. I did manage to find other shipping options for US and Australian customers from Sephora for US$9.50 and Beauty Bay for Au$15.40.

Kat Von D of LA Ink fame offers a limited edition nail polish that is only found at Sephora for US$12.50.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Here are some other cool finds that might tickle your fancy.
Essie offer Flirty Fuchsia which I think is brilliant because it's a neon Hot Pink. I found this on Amazon from store AVEYOU Beauty for US$8. I could not find any local Australian stores that stock this shade of nail polish. Essie is an American brand.
Barry M offers Shocking Pink which can be bought from their website for £2.99 which is approx. AU$4.60. They do offer international shipping when emailed. Another in your face colour with a casual outdoor outfit. Fun for the beach!
China Glaze offer 108 Degrees from the Island Escape Collection and is a deep pink nail polish with glitter. The glitter is hard to see in the pic. I like this shade as it borders on a reddy, rosey colour as well. Found this for $2.35 on Amazon seller My Beauty Smart. It is also available at My Beauty Halls for $8 and $5.99 from Sally Beauty.
Ok, I am a totes sucker for presentation. I love how this bottle of nail polish looks. This is on offer from Filthy Gorgeous London for £9. This I also found from Blue Banana for the same price. It is part of their 3D collection and it meant to sparkle and dazzle with a crystalized effect. Looks very flashy and shimmery and I think it's perfect for going out for a girl's night out!
Rimmel offer Funtime Fuchsia from their 60 seconds range. In Australia, it will mention where to buy it but no online options. You can check out your local pharmacy, Priceline, KMart, Target and Big W for approx. AU$7.95. For UK customers, I managed to find Chemist Direct for £3.39, Superdrug for £3.69 and Clockwork Pharmacy for £4.69. I think Rimmel is a reliable brand and who doesn't want their nail polish coats only taking 1 minute to dry. It is a solid fuchsia colour with a matte finish.
Zoya offer Kimber from their Surf Collection range for $8 directly from their site for US customers only. This is meant to be a beachy colour and offers a hint of glitter through the deep fuchsia. mBeauty Lounge offer international shipping and sell this product for $6.60. I like this nail polish for the hints of gold/yellow sparkle that tints the fuchsia making it dainty in appearance. Different take on the glittery fuchsia.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

So this is the 2nd part of my nail polish series for upcoming trends in 2012.

I tried to go with neon and glittery fuchsias to pizazz up your nails coming from summer into Autumn.It's not a colour for everyone but does suit all skin tones depending on the depth of colour you choose.

Please feel free to hit me up for any requests.

Tangerine Nails It!

Looking into nail polish trends has come up with a mixture of results, but what I found that stood out the most was Tangerine or Burnt Orange

It is such a fresh, vibrant and bright colour that works with all skin tones. I think just coming out from Summer into Autumn, this colour fits in perfectly with the changing season. Be perfect with a nice matte lipstick on a casual day out.

The nail polishes listed above from left to right:

Sonia Kashuk - $4.79 from Target. The only stockist who sells it is Target. Possibly only available in USA.

Sephora offers this Opaque rich Tangerine nail polish from their website for $9.50. You do have to scroll down and find the colour from all that is on offer.

Le Métier De Beauté Nail Lacquer in Not So Safe Orange cannot be bought off their direct website but you can purchase it for $18 from Bergdorf Goodman and Neiman Marcus.

CND offers Electric Orange #545 which isn't sold directly from their website but I managed to find it on Amazon from stockist One41 Beauty for $6.15. The maximum cost that I found was $8.45.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
For a local stockist here in Australia, I found BYS offered Tempt me Tangerine with stockists found here. BYS Nail Polishes usually cost around $5.
Dr.'s Remedy offer their Tranquil Tangerine for $17 off their website. It is a bit on the lighter side and not a solid, dense tangerine / burnt orange.
Found this at Drugstore.com by Revlon. This is the Tangerine nail polish and cost $4.99. You can most likely go to your local pharmacy or department store to find this.
Found an Etsy store KBShimmer that make bright and bold coloured nail polish. This is $7.50 from this Etsy seller. They are currently away but will be back in May to open up shop again.
OPI offer from their Texas Collection Y'all Come Back Ya Hear? I found this at various beauty websites including Recreate Yourself, Salon Style, and Beauty Bay for approx $16.95 but then I got onto Amazon and found the seller rock and glamorize that sold it for $2.
Ulta 3 offer Burnt Orange which is very strong and bold when applied. It costs approx $2 from a physical Chemist such as Terry White Chemists or any local pharmacy.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

This is just part 1 of the nail polish series. There are many more interesting colours that I want to share and would be perfect for the upcoming months.

Thought I would start out with the bright colours first before we go onto the subtle colours.

Thanks for stopping by. Please feel free to post any requests on my Facebook page here.

More Beauty Boxes?

Was reading Thoughts In Little Boxes who tested out:

This was available in the UK and it made me think about other options in Australia. There are different options out there depending on what brands you might be interested in.

Australian customers

To be launched soon...

I have linked the products page for each website. These are alternative options to Glossy Box

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
American customers
Beauty Bar does have a waiting list
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

UK customers

Previously known as Boudoir Privé

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Canadian customers
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

International customers

Found a review of this Korean website on this blog

Please note you do have to go onto a waiting list for Eco-Emi but all the products are organic.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
This is just a point of reference for people to check out the various sites and choose a beauty box is best for them. There is a variety of subscription offers and you do have to pick and choose what products you will be most interested in. Research around and read reviews on the companies before you subscribe. The good thing is, you can cancel your subscription anytime.
I found that America had the most to offer for their residents. With this growing trend, I'm sure there will be more companies emerging offering more options as well as natural, organic products.
I'm off now to research some nail polish trends.
:D
