Sportsgirl Lighten Up - Berrylicious

img_6393.jpg

So the week before my birthday, I bought a lot of bits and bobs from all over the place and now am getting a chance (or more so remembering) to blog about them.

Here is Sportsgirl's Lighten Up Berrylicious lipgloss.

Why did I buy this? I bought it because it had a light and mirror on it. That is really the reason. Here a picture of where the light sits:

Perfect for anywhere and can be worn during the day and night.

The colour is right up my alley with pink sparkles mixed in with hot pink and a purple tinge. I wear it during the day and wore it on the night of my birthday. It spreads on evenly and does not have a gluggy, sticky feeling. It feels so light on the lips and has a polished finish that makes it easy to wear. It has a natural feeling when worn and does not dry out. The only time you need to re-apply is after you've had a drink or eaten.

When I wear it, it smells like rainbow paddle pop. For those that don't know what that is, it's an icecream with this yummy creamy, bubblegum flavour.

I actually haven't had a paddle pop in years but remember the distinct taste and this is the healthier way for me to enjoy the aromas without eating junk :)

I bought this lipgloss for $4.95 on sale but this normally costs $9.95. Because this is a past season item, the new lipgloss colours and range are on their website here - you will need to click on "beauty" and "lips" as it does not directly create a link for some reason.

I recommend this product to anyone because it's not too bright and for me, pink goes with everything! It doesn't draw away attention to other parts of your make-up or outfit that you may be wearing and brings a bit of colour into your face as well.

Neon Pink Nails from Diva

img_5750.jpg

Diva has a sale... Automatically I go in (as always).

I buy the jewellery I like and get suckered in by the cheap check out, counter items.

This is what I nab. I liked the colour and the bling bling bottle top.

Now, I feel fashion jumped from one extreme to the other. One minute, there is all neon based clothing with lace trimmings or embellishments. That automatically starts with the neon bags and accessories. Then all of a sudden it goes to pastels... I'm not the biggest fan of pastels! So right now they are mixing it up with neons and pastels.. Which is it Australia?

So this nail polish has no name and was on sale for $3. It's obviously a neon pink but I call it Barbie Pink because that's what it looks like on. Here is my pic of some no so great painted nails:

It's great! You're probably wondering why I filtered the pic - it's because the rear facing camera once again did not capture the right colour. This is the true colour - Barbie Pink!

It's cute! It's Fabulous! It's LiLi!

Have a great day!

We <3 KA'OIR Cosmetics

So I discovered this brand Ka'Oir (pronouned Kay-Or) when I was looking at Snooki's Facebook page. Yes, I like Snooki and yes I like Jersey and Geordie Shore!!

The colours in the range are in your face, eye catching, vivacious colours that make you stand out in any crowd! I absolutely love the range and wish I could wear the colours in my every day life. I couldn't really tell you how this...

...would go down in the office. Should I try it?

To be honest, I would love to buy all the colours but realistically, I don't think I would wear all of the colours. I guess if I'm really game, then I would want every lipstick to match a certain piece of clothing. Who knows I might do it!

So, right now there are specials at Ka'Oir where if you buy 4 products out of the Lipsticks, Lip pops or Eyeshadow it will cost $54 in total. Thought this was a good deal to mix and match want you like. You can even buy every single item in the the different ranges and save on the total cost as well.

The reason why I was attracted to Ka'Oir as well was because of Snooki's signature lipstick:

Her lipstick is a baby pink girly lipstick and very Snooki! She named it Snookilicious. I like it! I think her lipstick is more "normal" in comparison to the other items on offer.

So check out the website here or just click on any of the pictures :)

I think this cosmetics range is perfect for any party lover or any bubbly, funky, out there girl! or guy if you fancy make-up! The range is not tested on animals and advertises that the products go on smoothly with no chapping. I want to put in my order when Snooki's lipstick is available on August 13th.

Have fun with it!

Etude House - Dear My Blooming Lips-Talk RD304

My good friend came back from Manila and bought me some Etude House products.

My first review is of Dear My Blooming Lips -Talk  RD304.

Whenever I used the rear facing camera, it kept making the colour look like a coral lipstick but it is far from it. This is why I edited the above pic to reflect the lipstick's true colour.

I interpret the colour as a hot pink red lipstick. It is bold, bright, fun and girly all at the same time. It works well for Asian skin as the products are made in Korea. That's not to say it wouldn't work well with other skin tones, but the colour combined with my skin, did not look overpowering and matched with just black eyeliner, made my look seem classic and simple.

To be honest, I find it hard to pull off any form of red lipstick. It is an art to find the perfect piece that you feel comfortable wearing but also compliments your features. I think why I like this shade so much is because of the hot pink tinge and I like hot pink lippies.

This pic makes the lipstick seem like a peachy pink colour. This was just in a room with natural light. So I tried direct sunlight and the results turned out like this:

The reason why the pic is blurry is because I was using the front facing camera on my iPhone. The rear facing camera did not capture the colour of the lipstick - it kept making it look like a dull pastey coral. This pic truly captures the colour. It looks like a hot pink red right? Well, that's how I see it.

I like this lipstick because it goes on smoothly with no cracking. You can feel your lips being moisturized and wears really well. You don't need to reapply too much to get the colour you need and it evenly distributes on your lips. It finishes with a creamy texture and I felt that it did not dry on your lips. Plus, the packaging is so cute! I don't even want to throw the box out because of how dainty and girly it is. Haha!

All in all, I am a convert to Etude House and am now looking into Asian make-up products to see how they fair on my skin. I want to see if Asian products work well for my Asian skin or if mainstream brands here in Australia are just as complimenting. We shall see :)

So, to buy these products, there is no direct link for Australia on the Etude Website.

I found this particular site from a seller in Australia: Pink Sakura. This website is great because they offer free shipping for orders over $50 and also sell other Asian manufactured beauty and cosmetic products.

Maybelline Color Tattoo - Tenacious Teal

On another Priceline run, there was Maybelline Color Tattoos on special! Currently Maybelline is on a 3 for 2 special but I paid $7.95 on special. From memory it was $14.95 regular price I think!

Instantly drawn to this range, I thought I would check out what was on offer. I was tossing up between the purple and teal and decided on this deep, rich colour. I may go back and get the purple but haven't decided yet. I liked that the Tenacious Teal was still bright even as a darker shade.

Ok, so this isn't the best application and I sort of just rushed it on. It is a cream gel shadow and it is a lot brighter in person than in picture.

The model pic seems a little bit too bright in my opinion so it makes me think the below pic had some other colours blended.

Possibly I might have to add more of the cream gel on to get this effect but I believe some editing may have been involved with this pic too.

What's good about this product is that it does not crease like it advertises and has 24 hour wear. Not that you need to wear this for 24 hours.... I think it is just promoting that it's long lasting.

I like the Tenacious Teal because it's one of those electrifying colours. It stands out but also makes you look a bit more lively in the face.

I think with this colour you can go with simple nude lips or bright pink lipstick would really work too! This colour is versatile in that it's bright enough for summer but also great for an evening occasion.

Check out if there is a colour that you might like in the range here
