Fancy a Wedge?

So it's been awhile I know! Life gets in the way (and maybe some laziness) so it's been some time since an update.

Since it is still summer in Australia, I was thinking about what would be a good buy that would go with any summer outfit for the ladies.

I thought wedges go with anything - shorts, skirts, jeans, bathers, dresses. I didn't want to provide dull designs so I went with either cute, fun, floral, eccentric and bright.

I like wearing wedges because they are always comfortable and you never end up complaining that your feet hurt after using them all day.

Check out my favourite picks:-

Francesca Fuchsia Suedette High Wedges

Thought these were perfect for a girly girl. They are bright, simple, sexy and fun. They will make your legs look long and make you stand out. Definitely can wear this for going out. Good thing about this pair of shoes is that it comes in different colours including, black, red and silver glitter. Found these shoes at Boo Hoo for £35 which is approximately AU$51.

Corky blk

Found these flirty floral wedges from Shoe Show for AU$45.00. Like them because they look silky and funky. Reminds me of the Chinese style dress Cheongsam. I also like how the pink stands out on the black background. Really cute as well :)

Lipstik - Dommy Red

Found these cutesy red wedges from Style Tread for AU$39.95. I like these wedges because they're versatile in the outfits you can match with it. I'd wear these with jeans or jean tights or a dress that you wanted to add some detail to. Great find!

MARAK

Found these at Wanted Shoes for AU$59.95. Although they are a bit pricey, I liked them because you can match it to so many different outfits because of how many colours are included in the design. They remind me of the retro looks and 70s. These are fun and bright. Good for the daring!

I Zig It Heel

Thought the heel on this shoe was awesome! I think any shoes with funky heels are good fun because it makes people look twice at your footwear. Found this on Modcloth for $44.99. Also a fun way to experiment with the leg wraps. This would go great with a skirt or shorts.

Black Jug Contrast Wedge Dolly

Had to include the Leopard print. I don't think Leopard prints ever go out of fashion! They are classic and I will never get sick of seeing leopard print. I found these shoes at A Wear for £35 which is approximately AU$50. These can be worn both casually or going out. It's a good choice to break up a black outfit.

Love Label Conure Corsage

Ok, so orange isn't exactly everyone's favourite colour but I especially liked the design because it was dainty and cute. It's perfect for a summer dress and I really do like multi coloured wedge heel against the orange. The flower makes this shoe just a lil bit more girly. Found this at Very for £37 which works out to be approximately AU$55.

Floral High Wedge Shoes

I like the subtlety of the colours and design on these wedges. To me, they look like a tribal print. I think these shoes would go great with tan coloured clothing or to mix it up with red clothes. Found these at New Look for £24.99 which is approximately AU$37.

~~~~~~~~~~~~
I'm also not afraid to check out stores like Target, Big W, KMart and Spendless as routinely they will sell wedges from $20-$35. I always find some cute shoes and they have lasted for quite some time.
I wanted to mix up things with a few new sites that I have never visited before. A lot of the great looking shoes cost over $200-$500 but as I am providing for those on a tight budget, I believe in good research before making any purchases.
Feel free to post any cheap websites that you come across that sell cute and funky wedges.
Coolest Find of the Month - January
Heated Eyelash Curler
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Modelco Turbo Lash Wand

Some of you may already know about this product but I thought it is a cool product from Modelco that helps sleek your eyelashes and make them look naturally curled and longer.

You can directly buy the Turbo Lash Wand from the Modelco website for AU$35 and I remember watching this on the news some time ago and that's why I thought to include it on my blog. I have read beauty and fashion forums such as Vogue and most users swear by this product. I realize it's not the cheapest product to buy so I thought to include some cheaper alternatives as well.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
1000 Hour Heated Eyelash Curler
Found this on Ry (stands for Recreate Yourself) for AU$16.16. I have seen this sold at our local Priceline. Normal retail price is $17.95.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Manicare Heated Eyelash Curler 23001

Found this at Okme for AU$12.99. Normally retails at AU$17.50.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Ardell Heated Eyelash Curler
This I also found at Okme. This sells for AU$8.95 and normally retails at AU$10.49. Also Okme offers free shipping with orders over $75.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

You may be already aware of this and thinking this is old school, but it's good to share for those who never thought of it. It's great for a gift for someone you know who is into their make-up and beauty products.

I think it's nifty and am always up for making my eyelashes look longer.

Remember to click on the pictures to be directed to the website.

Outfit of the Month - December

So I've been away for some time but have an outfit for the month of December. It's not really one outfit but rather one colour that is really popular at the moment.

Mustard seems to be popping up in all kinds of fashion. It's a nice warm, natural colour that suits most skin tones. I think when choosing products, you'll need to find the right depth and brightness of the colour and match it towards your skin.

The colour has been circulating for some time in formal wear as pictured above, but I like it for us, here in Australia as we lead into summer.

The outfit that caught my eye is worn by Jennifer Lopez when she was in Peru recently.

I think what striked my interest is the natural beige colour heels that helps compliment this outfit - and also the fact she has killer legs! :)

Please find below my attempt at providing some reasonably prices mustard fashion items that may interest you.

The Dress

Motel Laureen Dress with Sheer Panel

Found this dress at Asos. It comes In Mustard and Wine. It's simple but let's you have the option to wear black accessories with the outfit. I would not recommend wearing a belt with this. Black heels or ankle boots will be enough for this outfit. I can see a choker being worn with this and a clutch. I think the black helps break up the colour and helps against all skin tones as black clothing suits everyone! This dress costs approximately AU$34.95.

Pheobe V Back Shift Dress

I like this dress because it can be worn both casually or in the evening. I like the pattern of how the fabric comes together. It's quite short, so I wouldn't wear it if you aren't happy with the way your legs look. Pumps work best with this dress - I can't see this with any strappy heel. With this dress, I think simplifying the jewellery will help because of the design of the dress - No necklace though bracelets would be fine. I found this at Boohoo and costs approximately AU$24. There are so many sale items on this website with up to 50% off original prices. Everything is listed in British pounds.

Mustard bow shift dress

I think petite and cute when I see this dress. The mid white trimmings acts as a belt. This dress is good to accessorize with white shoes and I believe you could pull off pearls with this outfit also. I can also see a drop necklace with this dress but no over-accessorizing needed. The dress is simple so therefore it should be toned down when choosing accessories. Found this dress at Dorothy Perkins at approximately AU$24. It's also a good site to find sale items with over 1000 items on Sale for up to 50% off.

Skater Belt Dress by Rare

Found this casual dress from Top Shop for approximately AU$50. I can see this worn with tights and ballet flats. Alternatively, it could work with brown boots whether knee high or ankle boots, but I can't envision it with heels - I think this mainly to the type and cut of the dress. It reminds me of the 50s for some reason and I can see a sun hat worn with this. Good thing about Top Shop is that there is free worldwide delivery with orders over £75.

The Shoes

Promise Shoes - Lipa Mustard

I absolutely love the style of these shoes. My only problem is that I don't like wear really high heels because I am a clutz and most likely will fall down - it's like a regular occurence. This shoe is perfect for dressing up a casual outfit or complimenting evening wear. Found this at heels.com and costs US$52.99. Actually really like this website because of their extensive range and you can find some interesting designs for footwear.

No Cutting Corn-ers Heel

Modcloth sells this pair of shoes for US$42.99. Thought these were mega cute as they are girly and sweet! I think it's the bow that makes it special. This I can see worn with jeans or a nice summer dress. I also see baby doll tops and shorts worn with these shoes. I think these heels can pretty much go with any casual outfit because it's simple.

Ladies Platform High Heels

Found these shoes off Ebay from a store call Fashion hunt for AU$39.99. The store sells a lot of ankle boots and heels and thought this was a good idea to include a classic pump. I think these can be worn both casually and with evening wear. If you're not into platforms probably best to stay away. They look comfortable as well.

Accessories

Miss Loretta - Mustard Yellow Flower Headband

Found this cute find on Etsy from a Shop Sunshine and Carousels. Love this shop because everything is handmade and you can find some cute hair accessories from this shop. This headband costs US$20 but when you think about the time and effort placed into making it, the prices on Etsy don't seem that bad. They are other stores that sell cool accessories with some mustard items include, Bip And Bop, Hayeslnutt Designs, and Bigg Creations. I suggested these stores because of their hair accessories and earrings. There are plenty of stores out there but these stores had some interesting designs.

Evans Accessories

Found these real cheap accessories from Evans. It is actually a plus size store for women from the UK but they also sell accessories for really cheap. the earring listed above only cost £2.00 which is approximately AU$3.00. They do ship internationally and most of their accessories are on sale. I think the most expensive accessory I saw was £18.00 which is about AU$27. Thought this was a really good site plus you can check out the clthing if you are plus size too!

Ebags Mustard Handbags

Every bag I found on this website was on sale or highly discounted. The mustard bags I found above ranged from US$22.40-$39.20. There is a vast range in all colours imaginable and you can also find designer brands on this website. It lists on the website free shipping over $99 but not sure if this includes internationally. I personally like the clutch in the middle because you can match it with the first dress I listed.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
If mustard doesn't really interest you, then stay tuned for next month as I will have new outfit/colour to work with. Hope you enjoyed this read and hope it gave you a different stance on the colour. I think it's a nice neutral toned colour that suits everyone! I should be blogging more in the upcoming weeks but had a rest over the Christmas break. Keep safe and Happy New Year!
Coolest Find of the Month - December
Sally Hansen Salon Effects
Thought this was an awesome find because it's convenient for any girls wanting to glam up their finger nails.
The common misconception with this product, is that people assume it is nail stickers. They are actually nail polish strips. Yes, this means they are made out of real nail polish.
The range offers 24 different designs and lasts up to 10 days. It also can be removed with regular nail polish remover.
You could probably match this nail polish with some Violent Lips from my previous post Coolest Find of the Month from November.
The cost of this product is approximately AU$14.95 or on sale at $11.95. You can buy these strips at your local beauty stores such as Priceline or retail stores such as Target or KMart. Alternatively, there are online websites such as BeautyHeaven or Ebay that do sell it.
The reviews I have read swear by this product! It's an easy application and take approximately 10 minutes.
You can purchase this yourself or buy it for someone who appreciated nail products. It's a guaranteed way to avoid chipping!
Business Accessories for Men
You can't go to work without the proper accessories, right? I think any man wearing business shirts, will need to accompany it with at least, a nice tie and possibly cufflinks. To polish off your attire, for the ultimate professional look, you can add in a tie clip. So here's my attempt at providing some cheap options for these men's business accessories.
Tiesncuffs routinely have specials on their ties and cufflinks. At the moment they are offering a special on their Roberto Loren collection where you buy 9 ties for AU$100. That's approximately $11 per tie. They do sell designer ties and if buying multiple items, it ends up cheaper for you. The ties above are part of the Roberto Loren range. They do offer Kenzo and Valentino ties at 2 for $200 where the ties are normally $170 each.
Tiesncuffs are also offering 10 for $100 on their self branded cufflinks and novelty cufflinks.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

TheCuffShop is currently offering a deal of any 7 cufflink sets for AU$100. They offer a range of stainless steel, novelty, classic, professional and retro cufflinks. With this special offer, each cufflink set will cost approximately AU$14 each. The pics above are from their classic range and I like all the shiny, sparkly links.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
TheTieBar advertises that they always sell ties for US$15 every day. They offer a vast range of knit, silk and wool ties. I particularly like this site because it's interactive, in that you can select the shirt background and type of suit you are wearing to see if the tie would suit. Definitely recommend this site!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

needanewTie offers ties with matching cufflinks. I managed to find some on sale for AU$20 and you can add a matching hanky from AU$1 - $5. Personally, I think hankies are gross but if you are wearing a suit, it's good for your breast pocket if you want to match the whole outfit.

I found the cheapest tie bars/clips on this website also. They are on sale for AU$10 and I thought they look really flashy because they are gold plates and shiny :) Total bargain I thought.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
CufflinksEmpire is also a cheap website to buy cufflinks. The range when buying on your own costs AU$25 or you can buy 7 for AU$99. This works out to be approximately $14 per set. They offer a vast range of cufflinks and also run a deal that when purchasing 2 or more, they'll give you a free tie with matching cufflink and hanky. They pride themselves on fast delivery and deliver all their stock from Sydney.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Ties-Necktie offers a good range of colours and their website is really organized in display. The ties range from $8.95 - $49.90 and they do also offer designer ties. I believe they have a tie for everyone and their necktie outlet section will list all the ties on sale. Good site to get big discounts!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
BenjaminCufflinks promote that they are the largest Australian supplier for cufflinks. The costs range from AU$20 - $275 depending on the quality. I actually went to this site to check out the tie bars. The costs on the tie bars are $33 each or you can buy it in a gift set with matching cufflinks for $55. You do pay for 12 month warranty on the product and if you don't like the product, you do have 14 days to exchange. They are proudly Australia owned and operated and promote that they were the first online cufflink retailer.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

TieDaily is currently offering 3 for AU$50 on their silk ties. That's approximately AU$16 per tie. There isn't much in their range, but they do link they affiliate sites so you can buy more business attire.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I hope this inspires more men to suit up and accessorise their business attire. I think a lot of men can look better just by applying a tie. I believe these sites will help when attending a formal occasion or accessorising for a wedding. Let me know if you find any cheap sites. I did briefly look on EBay but thought most on offer were cheaper looking ties from Asia. Even though it may be cheaper, I believe by paying a bit more you can gain quality.
Don't be shy to leave a comment, message me or follow this blog.
