Outfit of the Month - May

So I wanted to follow up from this post about my overall outfit I wore to a 21st birthday recently.

I bought my Hello Kitty lipstick with my post about it here and wanted to make it work with a deep blue dress. So here are all the items I bought shown separately:

I bought the dress from Ally Fashion for AU $39.99. I loved it as soon as I saw it! It is a velvet dress with blue glitter dots all over the dress. It's polka dots meets velvet! When I bought the hello kitty lipstick I just knew I wanted to wear it with this dress! So, with that in mind I needed hot pink shoes for the whole outfit to come together.

So here is a picture of the whole outfit - excuse the picture as I cut out my friend and never got a picture taken of myself. Didn't want to include my friend just in case. Also, I may look short because I crouched down to take the picture as I was so tall in those heels:

I accessorized with silver Jewellery. I wore a diamonte choker necklace which I believe cost around $40 from Diva - I bought it a few years ago so I really don't remember. My earrings are from Lovisa and were on sale for $5. I kept my eye make-up simple with just black eye liner and mascara. My foundation was Bourjois Flower perfection blogged here and I used an Avon loose powder. I would let you know how much my clutch was but I can't because it was a gift. I would say you can find clutches for approx. $40. Here is a close up of my make-up and accessories:

So overall, this outfit costs $85 for the shoes, $40 for the dress, $45 for accessories, $40 for the clutch = approx. $210 in total. You can probably do it for less if you get the accessories and clutch on sale.

I received many great compliments on the night and loved the outfit overall! It was great mixing deep blue with hot pink. It worked out so well!

Revlon Colorburst Peony Pivoine

So, went shopping for my cats but found that the make-up stand always offer something valuable that catches my eye. This time I found a lot of promotion for Revlon's Colorburst range with Emma Stone front lining the campaign.

I always look into the lipsticks and lipglosses because I love wearing these everyday! I didn't want to go for any bright colours, so I found this Peony lipgloss that was soft pink with a nude tint and gold sparkles through it. The picture up top shows the slight glitter through it but not to worry as I took a pic of my lips for a closer view of what this looks like.

It is very light in shade when glided on your lips. I find that the gold glitter really shines through with this lipgloss. Because the actual shade blends in with your natural lip colour, the gold sparkles make your lips extra shiny. This lip gloss is also non-sticky and I do not get that gluggy feeling. I also feel that it is moisturizing at the same time.

This costs about AU$23 and can be bought from any pharmacy or beauty store. I can't say I found it anywhere cheaper online because it can be found at your regular retailers. Found lots of reviews for it. I would probably going to your chemist/pharmacy outlets to see if they have this for cheap.

lipgloss is great for every day wear or for special occasions. Right now, I am wearing it with just simple make-up of black eye liner. Easy done! I even took pictures! It's simple and sweet!

Accessorizing is good for the soul

So I thought I would share how much costume Jewellery I have. I think it's important for every girl to have lots of it because it means you are read for any occasion.

Here is the main view:

I actually have more than that with some items on the floor of that room. Hehe. Some will say that's too many accessories. I say it's not enough. I always buy accessories on sale so the cheaper it is, it means the more I can buy right?

My favorite item that cost me $5 - down from $40 - from Diva is this bracelet:

So there you have it, my girly girl collection. Can't wait to buy more!

Sharing my HOT inNiu heels

I haven't been out in awhile so when I got invited to my friends 21st birthday, I wanted to look decent and flashy. I wanted to wear my hello kitty lipstick from my post here and have heels to match.

I went to my local Harbour town - for those not from Australia, it is a shopping place filled with discount outlets - and I walked around for a few hours in search for some Hot Pink heels.

I went into Shoe Show and found these amazing heels:

For some reason these heels are not featured on the website, but they do also come in black. They cost me AU$85 but I felt this was worth it because of how pretty they looked. All Hot Pink and sparkly!! They are made by a brand called inNiu but what's bad right now is that their website is under construction so we can't view what else they offer.

These heels did hurt my feet but I haven't worn heels like this, in god knows how long. The pain was tolerable when I was dancing because fun always erases the pain.

I think it's good to splurge on yourself from time to time. I hope to wear these again on a girly night out with my home girls. I am actually thinking about getting the black pair also because they look amazing! Plus black goes with everything :)

I wore these heels with a dark blue dress but won't get the full body pics until later on. Once I get those pics, I will do a separate post and share my entire outfit with you, including make-up :D

Thanks for stopping by!

Handy Nail Polish Remover Tip

I find that when ever I use cotton pads and nail polish remover, that the remover will dry up fast on the cotton pad. I will also generally rub the cotton pad hard on my nails to try and get the coats off but this damages my nails and rips them to shreds therefore ruining the condition of my nails. I will actually see my nails shredding at hanging off the main part of the nail which is totally not good at all!

What I have discovered - by randomly stumbling upon it- was to use make up remover towelettes with the nail polish remover.

20120512-203733.jpg

I found that this was a faster and healthier way to remove nail polish from my finger tips. Not only does the towelette hold the nail polish remover liquid but when I rubbed hard, the nail polish came right off in about 5 strokes. I noticed that this did not damage my nails at all.

I haven't actually researched to see if other people have done this. The only reason why I discovered it was because I was literally too lazy to walk to the bathroom and get a cotton pad, so I used the towelette because I had it in my room.

I am in no way a professional to say that this is a healthier option for nails. I just found it worked much better and faster whilst you use less nail polish remover because the make up towelette holds the liquid for longer. I found it didn't damage my nails at all and will continue to use this method to remove nail polish.

Try it out and let me know what you think. I thought it was a handy tip and wanted to share it with everyone as I'm sure for some people out there, you wouldn't have thought to try it. :D

It will change your beauty life!
