Lesson 262: Pain is No Longer Something to Be...

Pain is no longer something to be afraid of. Over these months, going through pain, compassion and connection has allowed us to confront fear in ways that we wouldn’t have been able to before. Today we are to practise just that… thinking of a moment that causes you pain, going into it and progressing it through those 3 phases. It’s easier than it’s ever been.

I personally forget to practise just this. As I’ve been developing this year into my spiritual journey and passing through the passages of the heart, I feel a lot more stronger as an individual. I think being able to tackle pain head on is something that I can do without an issue. I think it’s part of life and we should definitely work through it. I understand that it’s not something to avoid. Yes, it can linger there, but the longer we leave it, the longer it can manifest into our lives and not for the better. My pain holds me back.

During the month of August I recognised the signs of depression coming on. I had no emotions and I wasn’t sure why. I had to meditate and look within myself to find the answer. That was confronting my own pain essentially. Some of it was stuff that I manifested myself, but some was that of others infiltrating my own energy. What I’m proud of is being able to recognise that there was something I had to confront and not having the fear to face it. It was more of an attitude of “just get it done”. Not everyone has this self-awareness and I’ve definitely learned this from the 365 challenges that I’ve taken on this year. From dealing with the pain, I did apply compassion, so that I could go back to being in connection. I still learn every day and although I don’t remember these lessons, I somehow get reminded from time to time to use past lessons in my every day life. I am grateful for this series because it’s helped me to grow.

Lesson 226: The Heart of Connection Happens...

….when we accept that we are all part of a collective “One”. The One being that of the Divine and how everything is woven through interconnectedness. Today we are to understand this by expanding our hearts. If we extend our heart through the passage of compassion, without fear, then we are able to draw in everything around us – our animals, the people in our city or town, the people in this country, the land… Start to see how everything is the “One” and that you are too. Meditate on this today.

When I meditated on the idea of connection and that of us being the “One”, I imagined I had this shield that I was extending outwardly. I extended out to my city, then the whole of Australia, just extending this energy shield outward, like a radiating pulse. I imagine myself just radiating a pulse out to the world and it isn’t overwhelming. For some reason, I thought the energy would take over and I would feel everything of the world. I felt very much the same. That we everything I feel is that of the collective consciousness. It’s a load we all share – whether it’s other people’s sadness, frustration, happiness… we all share the same feelings and emotions. It makes me think we can definitely raise the vibration to a more positive vibe. To me it’s at a level that is okay, but in the long run will not be sustainable. We have potential to be greater than we currently are. We as a collective, need to do this! We just need to awaken.

Lesson 224: The Only Protection You Have...

….is that of the passage of the heart. We will move from the heart of pain to compassion to connection. Today is about allowing ourselves to transition to the passage of connection. Are you ready for it? if not, why not? This is the point in which we awaken fully on a spiritual level.

I personally am ready to find connection. In fact, I’ve been wanting to find more people like me all year. I want to connect spiritually with people more and more to know their stories. I find the most interesting connection is that of experience – how another person views life versus my perspective. It’s interesting to share. I want to talk about deep subjects that allows for the mind and thought to be provoked. I like to be challenged in my way of thinking – it’s the best way to learn. I certainly do not know everything there is to know about everything and I find through connection, I learn so much more. If we are about the human experience, why can’t it be shared? Everyone has a story to tell and it’s about listening and being open to that experience. You may not have lived it or understand another’s life, but gaining perspective on a topic you know nothing about, just opens and expands your mind. I find that to be an exciting and wonderful notion. Deeper conversation leads us onto our paths of discovery.

Lesson 142: The Heart of Connection...

Connection is a beautiful thing…. That deep, genuine connection that makes you feel lucky to have. Today is about understanding that the third passage of the heart will come when it’s supposed to. To me, it’s all in Divine timing and we are placed in the right situations at the right time when we are supposed to be there. Are you impatient for your own spiritual awakening? Write down anything that pops up and then release this need you have for it. Everything will flow the way it’s supposed to and there is no need to rush it.

I didn’t know I would be spiritually awakened. I didn’t really believe in anything at the time and then it just came like some form of salvation. I was at the lowest of lows in my life and I knew I was the only one that could get me out of my darkness, though I didn’t know how. It was only when I asked for some answer, I was awakened. Now, I’m not saying you have to be in total despair to have a spiritual awakening – that is just my own experience. I think people start affiliating to belief systems out of pure interest. You find something that resonates, you read about it and you follow it based on your own feelings towards it. I don’t actually believe in religious systems because I personally find it restrictive. I think people should create their own belief system out of anything they want to follow – even if that’s taking bits and pieces from all different systems and making it their own. I am a bit like that and go off what I feel is right.

I also believe that every person’s journey should be their own. We are the product of our environment, so why not make it the best that we can? No one should be telling you how you should live and that’s the same with your belief system. There shouldn’t be a right or wrong in what you what to follow spiritually. Everything you adopt should be what you feel resonates you at your core, and not be what people tell you it should be. It really is a good exploration of self and when you start all the inner work, it’s the spark that lights your path. I truly believe that’s how most people are awakened –wanting to do the inner work that leads to enlightenment.

Tell me what spiritual workings you resonate with. I am accepting of all beliefs.

Day 140 - A Year of Spiritual Awakening When Compassion is Your First Response

Lesson 140: When Compassion is Your First Response...

As we learn to live with more compassion, you would start to see a change in your body. We should start to approach situations with compassion rather than pain. You might even notice that compassion is now your default response. We live with a more open heart when we practise in this way. Pain leaves us restricted and closed off.

Today we are to close our eyes and think about “any areas of contraction”. We are to expand those areas and if slip out of compassion, to breathe, focus and then try expanding the area again.

The first area of contraction that came to mind is my work place. I decided to send some healing energy that way and hope that we can all lift our morale in a really tough situation. I imagined some nice glowing light just filling the work space. I hope that we can move forward positively, that people have the skills to take the department where it needs to go and that the anger and resentment goes away.

I know this wasn’t part of the exercise, but I sent healing to my friend. He recently moved back to Melbourne after some unfortunate circumstances involving his money being dwindled in an unfair manner. I asked that he gets a job, settles back into Melbourne quite nicely and that he can move on from his bad situation. I know the focus was on self but I needed to do that for a friend.

If my work situation improves, that will help to overall mental wellbeing for myself and everyone involved. We have been screwed around for 6 months and things seem to be picking back up again. We need a boost to keep having the motivation to even come to work. I hope for positive steps forward.

How can you expand today with compassion?
